This article examines the philosophy of the creation of the earth from the perspective of the Qur'an by focusing on the relationship between the origin of the creation of the earth, the purpose of its existence, and the role of man as a caliph. This study is important because the discussion of the creation of the earth has been more associated with aspects of science and cosmology, while its philosophical and teleological dimensions are still relatively rarely discussed. The research uses the library research method with a thematic interpretation approach (maudhu'i) to Qur'anic verses related to the creation of the earth, such as QS. Al-Baqarah [2]: 29, QS. Al-Anbiya' [21]: 30, QS. Fushshilat [41]: 9–12, QS. As-Sajdah [32]: 4, QS. Hud [11]: 61, and QS. Stuart [20]: 55. The data was analyzed through the study of interpretation and relevant Islamic philosophical literature. The results of the research show that the earth in the Qur'an is understood not only as a material object, but as a creation of Allah that has a purpose (teleology), namely as a place where life takes place, a field of devotion to Allah, and a mandate that must be prospered by humans as caliphs. The philosophical relationship between the land as the origin of human creation and the earth as the space for the implementation of the mandate shows that human existence cannot be separated from the moral responsibility for the preservation of nature. Thus, the philosophy of the creation of the earth in the Qur'an emphasizes that the universe is part of a divine design that is full of meaning, so humans are required to maintain the balance of the earth as a form of servitude to Allah.
